Jim DeWald

Head Coach

Coach DeWald just completed his 12th season as the Head Coach at Seaholm. His coaching career began at Western Michigan in 1999 where he served as a graduate assistant for 2 years. DeWald then went on to be an assistant coach at Pontiac Northern High School as the head coach in 2003. After leaving Pontiac Northern he spent 3 years outside of the teaching and coaching profession. Realizing his true passion was teaching and coaching, DeWald returned to the profession he loved in 2009 as the head coach at Andover High School.

Coach DeWald played high school football in California playing for Tustin High School. DeWald received a scholarship to Western Michigan University and was elected Team Captain by his peers his senior year. While at Western Michigan University, he met his wife, Erin. Erin Keating DeWald is a former Seaholm Maple, class of 1993. Coach DeWald and Erin have 2 sons: 2020 Seaholm graduate and current WMU Bronco James and Caden, who graduated in 2021 played for the CMU Chippewas.
